The CRHIA library brings together more than 35,000 books specializing in history, including books, periodicals (around fifteen subscriptions in progress) and university memoirs. The collections relate to the four historical periods (ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary) and more specifically explore the themes developed within the CRHIA, namely:
  • atlantic and maritime history
  • history of international relations
  • history of Europe
  • history of migrations
  • history of slavery

The library is accessible to all. The consultation is free.
The collections are freely accessible in the reading room, and on request for archived documents.
To consult the documents kept in stores, please contact the librarians.

Loan terms :

The loan is reserved for :
  • UFR History, History of art and Archeology students
  • IGARUN students
  • Professors of the University of Nantes
  • staff of the University of Nantes

Certain documents are excluded from the loan, in particular memoirs, kept in stores and only available for consultation on site.

PhD 10 documents for 28 days
CRHIA Staff 10 documents                             for 56 days                            

Loans cannot be extended and we do not offer Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

Anyone can make an acquisition suggestion, either by email or through the filing cabinet left for this purpose at the library reception.
